The Tutoring
The Tutoring Service grew out of the need for young students to pronounce and write proper grammatical structures in the English language. It is based from the Cambridge approach and is designed to help students have better study habits and higher exam scores. Since many parents believe in after-school study, the service has become ideal.
The
Students
All of the students are studying so that they will become better at English or Maths. Many of them aspire to go into the sciences while others have the dream of becoming a teacher. Their struggles are commonly financial. This is the reason that I discount my rates - so that learning outside of the public school is accessible to the parents.
The
Mission
The mission is part of a vision that I received from God:
To use my talents and gift in teaching and to be an example of servitude so that others will see the LOVE of CHRIST JESUS through my daily living. In doing so, I desire to BLESS many young people throughout Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The Teacher
I have a background in teaching the sciences and English as a second language - TESOL and TEFL certified. My degrees are in the Humanities and General Studies. I have been in the military as a leader for almost 20 years. I am also a musician on bass guitar and piano. I have been teaching grades 5 - 12 since 1991 and first and second year university level since 1995.
My name is Lee Seungjae. I am a former student of Mr. Allen. He was my tutor for the English language for close to 1 year. We met 3 days a week in the afternoon. We covered reading, speaking, grammar and writing. He had a very well-planned structure that he followed for helping me to be able to understand and become more confident in my knowledge of the American English language. I believe Mr. Allen is very good at what he does and he helped me to improve my confidence and my study habits.
Lee Seungjae
I was failing my 7th grade Algebra I class and my mother found out about Mr. C.W. Allen. She asked him to help me with my Algebra so that I would pass with a high score. For five months, Mr. Allen provided me with the help that I needed. I was not paying attention to the fundamentals, but he showed me how to pay closer attention to the applications for solving problems. This helped to improve my study habits as well. I finished the course with a B+. Thank you, Mr. Allen.
